I ‘m 12 yrs old. I really want to learn how to play the piano but I don’t have that much money. I can afford maybe $10-$12 a half hour. But that’s about it. Please help me find reasonably priced piano lessons.
Ask your music teacher in school.

When my kids were little we used Piano Discovery, by Jump! Music. They have gone out of business. I want another computer program, where I plug in the electric keyboard into the computer, using a Midi cable and have lessons for the piano. I have seen piano wizard, are there any others you would recommend. I am also interested in a free trial down load to make sure it is what I want. Thank you
Hi
The Piano FX-studio does that. Here is the link

Here is another link which is very good especially the ABC program for beginners

I’m a pianist who is giving lessons. I was looking for a more scientific perspective. in other words, how does this help my student achieve more scholastically or how does this help them become more capable of integrating with other children naturally? Do piano lessons help them socially, academically?
Well I guess if they like music, it helps them find something that they enjoy doing, and music is one thing that can help people relive stress … so maybe it is a way to just have fun after a hard day at school?
I can’t have Private Piano Lessons at home ’cause we don’t have a piano here, so I think I can only get those in Malls or something like that.
Alabang, LasPinas, Molino. I can have lessons at these places but I have no Idea where exactly. I seriously want to have the lessons before school which is one June and I’m wondering where can I have My Piano Lessons, and How many Sessions do I need to learn. ^^
Private lessons at home are rarely good. Unless you are in a city like New York where it might be expected.
"Lessons at the mall" … are there even music stores left in the mall; especially any that sell pianos?
I don’t know what you expect to learn before school starts in the fall. Piano lessons are measured in years and decades, not weeks.
I just bought a piano for myself (I used to play) and my kids (6 and 4) love "playing" it. My daughter (6) is asking for lessons. She will start 1st grade in the fall. I started playing the flute when I was in the fourth grade. Should I wait until she gets to the fourth grade for piano lessons? I have no intention of trying to raise a Mozart, just to have an understanding and love of music.
Starting at 6 is a good age. I wouldn’t start them any younger than 4 or 5 though. The accompanists for my chorus class said that someone is paying her to give her 4 year old piano lessons and she doesn’t even know what to do with her.
I’m 13 and want to take piano lessons what is a good price per lesson?
The going rate in Canada is $20 per half hour.

nooo online courses please…i want to actually go to a place where there is more than one person!!!!
There are many schools of music located in the Bronx, NY. You may want to see a complete listing of the schools of music in your area by visiting Yahoo local at http://local.yahoo.com/ and entering the key words “school of music” (without quotation marks) into the search box and “Bronx, NY” (without quotation marks) as your location to see the complete listing. Also, I recommend you to visit www.musiceducationexpress.com that offers printable piano lessons for beginners so that you can start learning how to play the piano from the scratch. Piano tutoring is also available.
I just bought myself an electronic keyboard and i’m planning to learn it online. I googled for lessons and most of the links are for piano lessons. So is it okay if i learn to play the electronic keyboard with online piano lessons? (for eg. http://www.zebrakeys.com/lessons/) Or do electronic keyboards have their own specific lessons and are different from piano lessons?
i would appreciate it if i can get links for some of the best electronic keyboard lessons online also!
Thanks a bunch!!!!!!!!!! ![]()
Keyboards and acoustic pianos play the same notes and the same rhythms, but keyboards have additional features such as multiple sounds, background accompaniment, recording capability, MIDI capability, etc. Keyboards are usually portable and do not always have the full 88 keys. Digital pianos are digital keyboard instruments that are less portable than typical keyboards and have all 88 keys, but have a few of the digital features, such as a limited number of additional sounds.
To learn to play the keyboard, start with piano lessons to learn the basics. Then you will need to focus on learning the style of music that you wish to play. Classical music is usually played on an acoustic piano, or at least a digital piano. Popular music, jazz, rock, country, etc. are often played on keyboards.

I’ve been taking piano lessons for the last six years, and can sight read, read notes, play well, etc. Im 13 and have been thinking about stopping taking lessons. Piano isnt something i want to pursue as a career, but rather as enjoyment. I still want to play it casually at home or for others, but I think 6 years is enough, thoughts?
It is entirely up to you. Stop lessons if you feel like it. If you find you are ’slipping’ in ability and want to keep it, you might want to go back to lessons. If you find yourself playing less, maybe you are not that interested. If you are playing as often, and are happy with it, there you go.
The only thing to consider is not acting or being ‘flaky’ like an on-off switch as far as instruction goes. If you stop, stop for at least nine months to a year, long enough to see what happens and see if you want to return to taking lessons. If you return, commit to at least one year.
best regards.
I’ve been taking piano lessons for 1.5 years, and I have friends who have been taking lessons for 9 years. I am almost done with beginners, and I am playing songs like "Braveheart" by James Horner. I would like to start the violin someday, but I want to be fully advanced in piano first.
I really don’t think the time is the issue. If you really apply yourself to piano, you can become rather advanced at a fast pace. I’ve been playing piano for twelve years-six of which I took lessons during and now I play casually for my enjoyment. I’m sure if I applied myself and challenged myself again I could advance further.
What I’m trying to say here is that you don’t need to be playing for a prolonged period of time to be considered "advanced". You just need to challenge yourself and practice often!
Good luck =]
