  • Can a conservative explain the advantages of getting rid of the department of education?

Posted by admin on March 30th, 2010 and filed under department of education | 17 Comments »

I mean do you really think it’s a good idea for each individual state to come up with it’s own curriculum? Look at how Texas is ruining their students with their changes to the curriculum, can you explain how this would be good for America if each state did the same?

They want to get rid of the Dept of Education because the schools are not teaching the kids that Jesus discovered America and that God gave people dark skin because they were sinners. They are pissed and are not afraid to show it.

Hey what else can you expect from a group of individuals that think creationism or intelligent design as they like to call it, is a science and belongs in the science classroom rather than in the mythological literature curriculum.

How likely are high school and middle school relationships to end in marriage?

Posted by admin on March 30th, 2010 and filed under middle school | 8 Comments »

    Im curious [:
I never dated when I was in school but from what I remember all my best friends in middle school , their boyfriends broke up with them after like a week LOLOL .In high school .. Ehh things are a blurry memory for high school .. All I remember was studying -.-

Even if they get married the likelihood that it will last is abysmal.
You think you’ve got the world figured out at that age and you refuse to listen to anyone who knows what the heck they are talking about. There is a reason there is a driving, drinking, voting and legal age to marry. We don’t let children make life changing decisions on their own.

How to prepare for private school after 5 years of homeschool?

Posted by admin on March 30th, 2010 and filed under private school | 1 Comment »

I’m thinking about going to the eighth grade this fall to a private school, what should I do to prepare? Other than the ISEE, I’m already studying for that, but since I haven’t been to school since second grade and would like your advice. THanks!!

as soon as you get in school join a couple clubs that meet regularly. go to a couple meetings and pick at least one you like and promise to stick out the year. I’m serious your best Friends in school will prob not be from class but the clubs. Try it.

How can a middle school student get a head start on becoming a science teacher?

Posted by admin on March 28th, 2010 and filed under middle school | 3 Comments »

I’m 13 years old and I really want to be a middle school science teacher. My best friend and I found a middle school that said they would take me as a science teacher and her as a music teacher. I really can’t wait to start for real and I want to know how I can get ahead and start my studies.(And if its possible, classes) I won’t be able to pay for anything at the moment, but I’d really like some help on this.

Sounds like you’re serious! Okay! Well, as far as your schooling goes–take ALL the science classes you can. This also goes for math classes. They go together. When you get to high school, continue this trend. Hopefully, that will include physics and calculus classes.

Over the summers, see if you can get into summer science camps–and eventually even work at these camps as a counselor in the summers. Also, get buddy-buddy with your science teachers (after they get to know you and your work ethic) and ask them if you can TA for them (my school only allows juniors/seniors to TA for teachers but it’s incredibly helpful). Also ask if they know of any programs you can get into or people that you should meet.

Eventually, you’re going to want to observe science teachers in the classroom after you leave high school. It’s hard to see the other side (the teaching side) and fully understand it until you leave your high school life/world behind (check out both middle and high school classes). Look into colleges and universities that have strong education and science departments. If they do their job to help you, you’ll be in and out of college in four years–and with two degrees.

I do want to note that it’s not a bad idea to keep your mind open to other things you love. Take fun classes in high school (while they’re free to you ;) and see what else interests you. Even if you’re set on teaching science, you’re going to need a break every so often. So take some time to find other things you enjoy. Good luck. Science rocks. ;)

Note: When you go to observe science classes, go to different schools. Each school (and district) is run a little differently. Get a feel for it. You’ll have an even better idea of what you like when you student teach. Science is going to be a big need area very soon, so when you’re ready, you could have some great choices to choose from.

How is public different than private high school?

Posted by admin on March 28th, 2010 and filed under private school | 4 Comments »

I’m transferring to a public school next year when I am a junior. I only know two people there but the two people happen to be my best friends. I am scared! How different is private and public? My friends at my private school think i’ll get beaten up or won’t make friends. Have any tips?

i have been in both private and public. private for middle and highschool

one of my friends transfered to a public school and went wild she got into drugs and everything else because it was much more readily available. (not saying that is true of were you live) she made friends but it took awhile for kids to quit saying she was a rich bitch since she came from a private school. you should expect larger classes, used/ beaten up textbooks, a much wider variety of kids, definately wont be as pushed as you were in the private school in forms of homework and tests. but it all varies on where you live

What are some good ideas for lesson plans for one year olds?

Posted by admin on March 28th, 2010 and filed under lesson plans | 3 Comments »

I know it sounds ridiculous (I feel that way too, seeing as how most of the time you can’t get them to stop biting each other or hitting lol) but, DHS here requires a developmentally appropriate lesson plan to be made each week. Art activities are simple, I need a basic theme(s). Any ideas would be helpful. Thank you.

Rolling balls to encourage visual tracking
    Baby songs and massage
    musical instruments
    Touchy feely jelly/bean bowl
    Nature box
    water play

What do I need to do to in order to become a special education teacher?

Posted by admin on March 15th, 2010 and filed under special education | 1 Comment »

I don’t necessarily want to become a special education teacher, but I do for sure plan to do something with special needs people. What things should I be doing in order for this to happen? I plan on going to college that has a special education program, but is there anything else that I can do to help prepare?

    This will tell you everything

Can a lesson plan for Elemenatry Art be creative?

Posted by admin on March 15th, 2010 and filed under lesson plan | 2 Comments »

I am writing up a lesson plan for Art for Elementary teachers class. Do you think I can use word art to make the lesson plan look artistic or does it need to look professional?

Since you’re writing it for an adult class, I would say keep it professional but you can include examples of what they can do to give them some sort of visual.

Where can i find lesson plan about teaching grammar in english as foreign language?

Posted by admin on March 13th, 2010 and filed under lesson plan | 2 Comments »

hi.i would like know where i can find lesson plans.i attend seminars about teaching english to speakers of other language.and i need a lesson plan about teaching grammar based on the Communicative Language Teaching.could anyone help me?

This very much depends on the level of the class, what they need to know and so on.

However, the link below is a good start. It’s a total beginners class and, using the communicative approach, teaches them basic phrases to get on with. You can use the same ideas to move up a few notches and try the Passive Voice example as well.

There are many schools of music located in the Bronx, NY. You may want to see a complete listing of the schools of music in your area by visiting Yahoo local at http://local.yahoo.com/ and entering the key words “school of music” (without quotation marks) into the search box and “Bronx, NY” (without quotation marks) as your location to see the complete listing. Also, I recommend you to visit www.musiceducationexpress.com that offers printable piano lessons for beginners so that you can start learning how to play the piano from the scratch. Piano tutoring is also available.
